Registration authorities

State registration of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs is carried out by
various state registration bodies.
The National Bank of the Republic of Belarus registers banks and various non-
bank credit and financial institutions. Such organizations may also be located on
the territory of free economic zones (FEZ) or the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial
Park (CBIP).
The Ministry of Finance registers insurance organizations, associations of insurers,
insurance brokers, including those located in the FEZ and the CBIP.
The Ministry of Justice registers chambers of commerce. The administrations of
the FEZ register the entities that are located on their territory, except for the
organizations indicated above.
The administration of the CBIP also registers business entities that are present and
conduct activities in its territory. However, it does not register the organizations
listed above.
The main registering bodies for commercial organizations are the Minsk City
Executive Committee, as well as regional and local executive committees.
Commercial organizations in which international and (or) foreign organizations
participate are registered by the Regional Executive Committees.
City Executive Committees may delegate part of their powers in registration to
district administrations. Regional executive committees may transfer their powers
(part of them) to local executive bodies, as well as to administrative bodies. Within
the framework of its competence, other executive bodies may also be engaged in
registration.
